Through the first round?

I went 24 for 32. Duke and Notre Dame hurt me, I thought Arkansas could take USC, I was wrong.

How have you guys done so far?

Bass,

This won't last long, but I'm tied for first in a group of 76 with 28 winners. In past years I've spent a couple hours studying trends, point spreads, strength of schedule, etc. and the end result was no better than if I flipped a coin.

This year, my group is on CBSSportsline and it took me 5 minutes to complete...click, click, click...

I'm a winner no matter what. I save 2 hours of my life, lol....

I'm sure I will fade into oblivion though....I have Texas winning it all!

24 out of 32 after the first round and only lost one Elite 8 team, GT.

Far better start than I had last year and got every single game in the South region right in the opening round.

Final Four of Florida, Kansas, Texas, ATM. Have Acie Law clutching his way to a National Title for the Aggies. Not liking the three Big 12 teams in the Final Four looking at my bracket now though.

Wisconsin, Kansas, Georgetown, and Ohio State in my Final Four.

Kansas over Georgetown in the Championship. Elite 8 still in tact, it probably wont last though.

Dude, you are kicking ass! I went 23-9 in the first round, but still have some hope of finishing well -- my final four is UCLA, Texas, Florida, and Ohio State, with UCLA winning it all. It could happen, although I am having second thoughts about Texas making to the championship game, seeing as how they have to go through some pretty tough teams to get that far. But hey, it made sense at the time.

Has anyone here actually won a pool? I won an office pool in 2001, and the thrill of actually winning was even better than the cash I got. (Even though Duke won -- a small price to pay).

How about that Ohio State game!!

I had a feeling after they tied it with that 3 point shot that they would go on to win it in OT.

Just 24 out of 32. I've got Maryland taking it all! A homer pick of course :D

Had Maryland in the Sweet 16 so that's a hit but damn that made me so angry I've actually given myself a headache!

You can't be that poor from the line and expect to win. When I played for my district against youth teams for a couple of British pro teams in my leage as a 14/15 year old I improved myself to a 65-70% free throw shooter. With practice free throw shooting ain't a difficult skill, poor free throw shooting isn't acceptable and is emanently frustrating!

That's exactly how I stood after the first round!! For some reason I knew Wisconsin was going down, I just thought it would be Georgia Tech that did it, not UNLV. I then had them beating Winthrop to reach the Elite 8.

My wife entered a pool at work. She hates Basketball but her co-workers talked her into playing. She picked teams based on their uniform colors and mascot names. After this weekends games she is 37 - 11.:rolling: She has Georgetown winning it all.

Now I know why I always do bad. Wrong formula.:bag:

After round 2 I've got 33 correct picks from 48 games and by yahoo's scoring system I've got 42 points.

I've lost one Final Four team (Texas).
Also maxed out in Texas' region as I had them playing BC in the Sweet 16.

Total - Lost two Elite 8 teams (Texas and GT).

My national champs (ATM) are still alive.

My bracket has survived the first weekend a lot better than it did last year.

Where did she find the uniform colors and mascots? I spent over an hour on CBS sportsline trying to track down all 64 teams mascots and colors and eventually gave up. I was going to try to fill out a bracked just based on color and mascot because you always hear on the radio that somewhere someone is doing well doing it that way.

After I sepent overn an hour trying to find and organize the teams mascots and colors (I eventually settled for their logo from sportsline) I manadged to make about 8 picks and just gave up.

So my point is it is probably quicker and easier to just guess based on the university's name recognition and seeding than to try to find all of the colors.

By the way, based on my research I came to the colclusion that all of the radio talk show hosts were just lying and that is was too time consuming to actually pick based on color and mascot.

Quiz:

Quick: What are the colors and what is the mascot for Belmont? for Wright State?

See my point? If it was the ACC tourney I woudl do ok. Once you get passed the big schools i n the majors I am done. Then you get into the mid majors and forget it. (Go Salukis)

2 pools of 241 entries.
One has Texas winning and MD in the final four.... ha ha ha ha
The Other has Georgetown winning and is short 2 eilite 8 teams. That oen si screwed as I'm sure it competes with all of the girls. It has 3 1's and Georgetown in the final 4. But, it was very upset heavy early. Not good.

Sounds like we have a similar bracket.

I had Texas in the FF as well and A&M winning it all.

My other FF teams are UCLA and Oregon.

I have 12 of sweet 16 teams. The ACC killed me in the first 2 rounds...Duke, GaTech, VaTech, MD.

I am still in the money in my office pool.

My final 4 is:
Florida def Kansas
North Carolina def Texas A&M

Florida def North Carolina

I got 26 of 32 in the first round and 12 of 16 in the second. I have 7 of my Elite 8 still in it, unfortunately the missing one I have going all the way :(

I'm leading my pool of 40 people but several still have all their final 4 teams.
