I usually don't get too worked up about what columnists think of the Ravens, but his article on how the Pats are cleaning up in FA, and how they may be separating themselves from the "elite" clubs in the AFC has me scratching my head.

"If New England has spent wisely, the AFC's balance of power could shift. At the end of last season the Colts, Patriots and Chargers were 1A, 1B and 1C in the conference"
Huh?

Well, to be fair, the Colts won the Super Bowl, the Pats were in the conference championship game, and the Chargers had the best regular season record. I'm annoyed that he left the Ravens totally out of the discussion, but he has an argument. Sadly, we were one and done in the playoffs.
But his point about the Patriots making all these free agent signings is well taken, because that hasn't been their strategy in recent years. They're usually letting guys go, not going out and signing them. Who knows how it will work out, but on paper it looks good.

Im sorry but IMO it is time to move some things around.
Keep the divisions the same but move the AFC West and North to the NFC and move the NFC North and West to the AFC.

I don't particurally take that article as dissing the Ravens.
Hard to argue with what New England has done thus far in the off season.
Unlike other teams that were mentioned in that article regarding being active in free agency as the norm, New England actually has people in place that know how to utilize the talent they have.
If I was forced to place a wager on what team I thought would win the Superbowl right now, it would be New England.
The fact that they also have two first round picks just magnifys their ability to add even more talent.
Hard to argue with their success over the past several years.

Can't argue with that...at least the Chargers put up a quality fight against New England.
We just laid a huge egg.

Well, even if you do take it as a diss....
We don't have offense. Offense is sexy. Especially after the Colts won this year, you can have all the defense in the world, but without a top flight offense no one really cares nationally.

Well, grouping those teams as 1A, 1B and 1C and leaving the #2 seed with a 13-3 record out of the discussion entirely sounded like a diss to me. :bag:

Media loves to hate us....what's new. I really don't care anymore because I love being the underdog and overlooked.

I agree because he says end of the season not playoffs. We were 1B at the end of the season. But never forget the fact that Pete is a HUGE Patriots fan/apologist. But I'm sure if you asked Peter he would put the Ravens at 1D and I can't really argue with that.

Sadly, we were one and done in the playoffs.
So were the Chargers.
I have a feeling New England is going to be the team to beat next year. Their additions have been scary and Maroney is going to be a top back in years to come.
