Just got this email:

http://mail.hosttown.com/cimages/27c42fdd1bb9deed73398140c23236/RAVENS-PLATE.jpgBecause you are among the most valued members of the Ravens family, we are alerting you first. For the first time, Baltimore Ravens specialty license plates are available for purchase. Now you can show your team spirit every time you hit the open road. The MVA has limited the number of license plates produced to 10,000, so get yours now.
The $55 cost for your Ravens plate includes the $25 MVA fee and a tax deductible gift to the Ravens All Community Team Foundation (RACTF) of $30. The RACTF is doing great things in Baltimore and beyond and focuses on programs that help youth and families with various needs, including housing, hunger, education, athletics and mentoring. Recent projects include the renovation of a high school football stadium, the purchase of football and women's basketball uniforms for all Baltimore City High Schools and financial support to United Way, St Vincent's Center, Paul's Place Outreach Center and Sandtown Habitat for Humanity.
To order your specialty Baltimore Ravens license plate call 410-261-RAVE for the application form. Take advantage of this presale, plates are limited and go public at the end of this month.

I thought so because there has to be some perks being a PSL owner...:D

when you call for the application they verify your PSL account info and ship it to that address, so i assume if your not a PSL holder you cant get them yet.

On the "other" forum, people have said anyone can call and get them. They are just dialing the number, if they ask if they are a PSL holder they say "no" and they still send them out an application.

I think it was suppose to be "hush hush" so PSL holders could get first dibs, but they were on 98 rock last week and every called and got the info, its limited to 10,000 plates, so not every psl holder can get one.

Wasn't this suppose to be meant for PSL owners 1st???Yes, if you are a psl owner, you should already have received an application. They went out on Mar. 17(at least mine did) I have already returned my request.. It takes 3-5 weeks! And yes, the psl owners will be given first chance!

I dont know whats up with the Ravens mail system, but all the PSL holders seem to be getting important mailings at different times or not at all. The srping football fest, i just got my form this weekend, and others have said theyve had it for a week, other people complained they never got their In Print magazine. (i never got my year end one either, others did).

and now this, i never got an application by email or mail, but doesnt matter i moved to PA, darn it!

Come to think of it I did not get anything about the plates in the mail neither. So let me ask this. If I went ahead an got a set what do I do with my existing plates? I have the Bay plates so I was thinking of transferring them to my wife's car and have her turn the plain ones back in.

Just realized something Admin,

Take advantage of this presale, plates are limited and go public at the end of this month.

You got this email late, you were supposed to get it mid-March. At the end of March (not April) the plates were available to the public, this is why I have been able to order them.

I didn't get the email yet and I'm a PSL owner, but then I live in Florida. Maybe they've scrubbed the list to only include MD addresses?

Edit: got my email from them today and I sit in the upper deck, 532.

Since FL only uses a back tag I've got a mirrored Ravens plate on the front of my car.:)

I just got my email today also....i live in Pa....so there goes that theory, wonder if Club level people got the email first, then lower level, then those low class upper level people will get it next month? hahaha just kidding, but seems the ravens have some sort of "tiered" system for everything.

I have Ravens Nest plates on three vehicles so I'll donate my tag allocation to people I work with.

I received an email and called the Ravens...they didnt even ask me if I was a PSL owner. My Nest tags will be coming off for the Rav tags

I just called and they asked me for my account number. Can't they be consistent??

I wonder if it depends on the person who answers the phone.

They are probably supposed to ask, but they dont always do so.

They asked me if I was a PSL holder when I called and asked for my account number. When I didn't know the account number they asked for my name and I had to verify my address.

Of course, anyone who knows the name and address of a Ravens account holder could do this.

That's why I say if you don't know the account number then you don't get a application. Your ticket invoice has it and so does your PSL Owner card they sent out last year.

But I did get one. I just had to verify that I was a PSL holder by giving my name and full address. She looked it up, found my account, and mailed the application.

My comment was that if I know my neighbor is a PSL holder, I could call up and pretend to be him and get an application that way.

In his name... sent to his address.. you are breaking laws there if you pick up the application... federal ones. If that is worth it to you for a Raven's tag, more power to you.

Not if you didn't know their Account number. That's my point. The account number is unique and that's what the office should make people give....even if they know the address.

They never asked for a registration # or if I was a PSL holder.

We're having some sort of disconnect here...... I repeat, I did NOT know my Account number and I RECEIVED my application in the mail yesterday.

Yes they SHOULD make people give the acct # but clearly they are not.

I guess legally they cant deny the public from getting these plates....i do know alot of these plates to get them you have to be a member of the organization, like the ravens nest plates you need to be a nest member, or the parrot club on oc, so you pay fees to these clubs as well as the plate.

I think the Ravens wanted to give PSL's first dib, but once everyone knew about it they couldnt do anything. Does the form ask for your psl #?? just curious cuz that would solve the issue. Anyone could get a form, but you cant get it approved without the psl # if the application asks for it.

The form and payment go back to the Ravens to be processed, so they could deny you at that point if you are not a PSL holder. Something tells me they won't be turning down too may $55 checks they receive in the mail though...

The application has two parts. One is to the Ravens (payment info), the other to the MVA. The Ravens fill out the top part of the MVA form #VR-124, which includes the following statement under the signature line: "I certify that the individual below is a bona fide member of the above organization". Assumedly, if you are not a PSL holder, the Ravens would not fill out the top portion of the MVA form (because to do so would be making a false certification)and would not forward the application to the MVA.

Out of concern that there will be too much demand from PSL owners and others against only 9,999 numbers, we are getting off our filled out applications today. The wife is leaning towards getting one for her car as well as mine, even though it's my birthday!

Nowhere on the FAQ or form does it say PSL. The form never specifies the "organization" it wants referenced. I am not a psl holder but i am applying for the plates. I will not put "psl holder" as the organization. We'll see i guess.

So do we just leave the top part blank? The part about the Organization?

I sure hope so. That's what my wife did. Who else can sign the non-profit certification? not the tag-holder.
