After a much too long mourning period, I have decided to rejoin the masses and try and put the awful ending to our season behind me; well, sorta . . . I'm still a little hinky about it :bag:

As some of you know, every year that we have had a draft tailgate (with one or two exceptions) at the stadium. It is a great chance for a spring get together and a meet and greet for new peeps to put faces to names.

Anyhoo . . . . anyone interested? If so, I suppose I'll have to get into planning mode.

Toodles

P.S. If someone wants to let the peeps on the other board know, that's fine. I don't go over there anymore, but I'm sure there are some old timers who will probably want to join in. Thanks :D

Good going, Lady Raven. Stimulate some activity. I'm sure that the April snow will be melted by Draft Day so we can have good weather.

I'll be there if I am in town. I missed the last couple Draft Day parties. Same spot between Lot B entrance and Eutaw Promenade? Does Beeracuda still bring his cooler on wheels?

btw: I'm too lazy to do the research - but: when is Draft Day?

Draft Day I know because it's the weekend before my birthday! :D

April 28th and 29th this year.

Have a good one folks.

Each year the hype grows more frantic on NFL draft day. I think it's fun.

The world just can't seem to get enough of the NFL. Soon we may see franchises in places like Rangoon, Liverpool, Mars City, and maybe even in one of the Dakotas.

Holden and I will attend. Sorry for the long absence everyone. We JUST NOW got back into the house (last Monday 4/2 actually). 5 long months in a hotel with 2 kids and a dog.

Holy Crap!

It's good to be home. See everyone on draft day.

Hot-diggedy! I'll be there with the little guy. We're not thinking about football too much right now, though. Well, maybe just the ones thrown around on the beach...

Sorry, won't be at the Vault on Saturday. I like to set up our own war room and watch as well as listen to the commentary surrounding the picks, especially on the first day. I am planning on going to Dave & Buster's for the second day (Sunday)to catch the GAMETIME show! Are you going for that or just to the stadium on Saturday for the Spring Football Festival? I liked how they had it after the draft last year and introduced the new draft picks. I guess we won't get that chance this year.

I have plans to be at M&T that day.

that made me think of baseketball - the sportscenter part.

Dan Patrick: With the first nine months of the Baseketball postseason out of the way, the playoff picture is starting to emerge.
Kenny Mayne: So, with last night's victory over Boston, next week the Milwaukee Beers must beat Indianapolis in order to advance to Charlotte. That's in an effort to reduce their magic number to three.
Dan Patrick: Right, and then the Beers can advance to the National Eastern Division North to play Tampa.
Kenny Mayne: So, if the Beers beat Detroit and Denver beats Atlanta in the American Southwestern Division East Northern, then Milwaukee goes to the Denslow Cup, unless Baltimore can upset Buffalo and Charlotte ties Toronto, then Oakland would play LA and Pittsburgh in a blind choice round robin. And if no clear winner emerges from all of this, a two-man sack race will be held on consecutive Sundays until a champion can be crowned.

Yeah, we'll be there. I think I'll purchase tickets to go in this year so I can kick CY's ass at field goal kicking. That'll teach him to be somewhere warm right now.

Will crapdip be present, LR? Do you want to co-ordinate any particular dish bringing scenario? What time is everyone getting there?

I didn't see this on the other board yet so I'll post it up there.

I'l be sure to at least attend the tailgate. Mrs. Admin has me building a kitchen. Major work. Should be basically done by then.

FYI, I'll be bringing the grill so if anyone wants to bring stuff to cook feel free.

I can't promise any Cohibas tho...sorry!

The little one and I will most likely be there.

Do we have any more thoughts on this yet? April 28th - what time are people getting there? Will we be congregating in Lot B? As close to the Stadium as possible, I assume?

The old place (I think it's B Lot right off the road on the grassy plot next to the stadium) seemed pretty happenin' to me.

I was thinking 9:30-ish.

The grassy knoll sounds good to me.

Sorry folks, can't make it.

Just got Holden's revised baseball schedule and he's now got a game smack in the middle of the party.

Bummer.....

Have fun!!! Hope to see you all at Greg's, if not before.

At least drop off the grill!

Ummm . . . . guys, it seems that we have to bow out also. HRH has plans that interfer with the times of the draft party and unfortunately something has to give . . . . . that mean us. Damn kid. She has such a social life that we are having a hard time fitting in our (few and far between) engagments. :(

Since we won't be there to set up and since Pat's kid has thrown a kink into the plans with the whole grill thing . . . I guess y'all are going to have to wing it.

I suggest that everyone meet at the usual place and then go from there.

I'm really sorry . . . . you guys know who much I love the draft tailgate, but unfortunately HRH is old enough now to know when she is being snowballed (like trying to convince her that going to the stadium to hang with us is as much fun as going to a birthday party), so I guess it is what it is.

Signed

Slave to a 9 year old girl (if you have one or have survived one, you know what I mean)

P.P.S. I know Fanatic is logged in . . . I'm just too lazy to log him out and log myself in.

Thank you and good night :nerd:

Oh sweet Moses, so who the hell is going to be there then?

I make it me, my random Lions supporting friend, MistaT, Camden and Son, Kevin and Daughter, Crowdog, Jr and that Admin guy sneaking away from DIY duty. And no bloody grill.

Does anyone have a grill? And a tv/radio would be good for following the draft.

Let's figure out whether this is still viable. If not, I'll unpin this from the other board and tell them they're on their own.

Damn do I feel guilty.

If anyone who lives further out in the sticks than I do (Admin 24x7) :)

wants to swing by and pickup the grill I would be more than happy to have it ready for them.

Lemme know!!!

Have fun guys....

I still plan to be there. I don't have a grill - you know, the old health food stuff. I will bring some beer, though. I may have an old B&W 5" TV - I'll have to check in the attic. I'll be there by 10 am, same spot between Lot B entrance and exit ramps, the "grassy knoll".

Well, my own little princess birthday is Sunday. Thus Amy is going to be preparing for that. If not, I would have invited you all over to the homestead for a little late afternoon evening get-together.

Maybe we can have a get together in a few weeks or so. How about Memorial Day Sunday? The pool is already open, so the water might be warm enough for kids by then (meaning not frozen).

Memorial Day Sunday looks good right now. Subject to the Blue Angels - Severn River schedule.

I feel terrible about not being able to attend. I'm really, really sorry :(

Memorial Day weekend sounds good to me too. It's my birthday weekend (and Big Steve's). Why not party hardy

I will be there for my 1st visit to the draft day party/festival. I will be bringing my 9 year old son after his baseball game, which should be over by 11 in Bel Air & be downtown by Noon. Saturday is also my 40th birthday, so it should be a fun day. I'm ready for some football!!!!
