Are we getting copied by the Jags fans??? Whats up with that? They just showed a shot of the crowd and they are chanting like we do,I never knew of anyone else in the NFL to do this am I mistaken??
On a side note the Jags are now moving the ball up and down the field on the Steelers, the "best safety in the NFL" (according to some)has missed four tackles and Fred Taylor is treating the Steelers D like his biatch.

I was just noticing that!
The Jags really came ready to play tonight.

Sports Steve & I saw it first hand last year. I thought they did it better than us. It was like the whole stadium did it at the same time and at a quicker tempo.

I don't recall the chain gang yesterday...I remember seeing the chain thingy on the big screen. But the noise wasn't as prominant as before.

Don't give them too much credit if they're doing it a little more in unison than us. It's easier to organize a chant with half as many fans

I don't give a crap what they were doing.
That crowd was absolutely relentless from start to finish during that game, and had their part in achieveing that victory.
Chain gang schtick or not, they deserve their props for tonight.
Was there first hand myself last year, and thought the place sucked, but the fans tonight did not.
That Jacksonville team is going to present some serious problems this year to many.
Definitely not to be taken lightly by any means!!

The "Move Those Chains" chant was done at the CFL games in '94 & '95. Prior to that it was done at Maryland games. It's nothing new.

There was a big contingent of Ravens fans there last year. They probably saw us doing it and decided to copy it.

It's done at several other stadiums. Maybe at first to taunt visting Ravens fans? Don't know.

I agree Ron. I was there last year and don't recall those trailer trash mouthbreathers doing the move those chains - in fact they looked confused at what we were doing on the three or four occasions we actually landed a first down in that game. They obviously decided that we do in fact rock as a fanbase, and would incorporate it into their game day routine.
As much as I dislike the Jags, I was a big fan of theirs last night. Props on a great win. I was going to dress up in Jacksonville gear, but couldn't find my beer stained wife beater, Earnhardt hat and mullet wig.

We were in St. Louis in 1999 and were doing it. When the Rams took a lead, their fans started doing something similar to mock us. At one point, one of the guys in our group got up and yelled at them: "If you're going to do it, at least do it right!", and then proceeded to show them how it was done. It was pretty funny at the time and both sides had a good laugh.
Anyone know if it caught on in St Louis?

while i am glad to see the steelers lose this week, i am not sure i want them to lose next week. i think it would be in our best interests if it were a close game and the bungles lost. we need both of them to pile up some losses. if the bungles go into pitt and can get a win, i think it will build their confidence up even more. allow them to pull out another win down the road that they would lose without the confidence.
just a thought. no matter which team wins, it is good for us. and now that i am thinking of it, if pitt just went on a losing streak and missed the playoffs entirely, that would be hilarious.

A few years ago we gave the Atlanta crowd lessons on how to do "move those chains".

Umm NO. It never caught on in STL. Very fairweather out there, if you know what I mean...I saw an entire fanbase turn against Kurt Warner over the course of 60 minutes while I was stationed there...:grbac:

RAV - have you been to M&T this season?
They have this 'commercial' on the big screen showing Ravens fans busting a move. I thought having you do the Ray Super Bowl dance would really pump up the crowd. I think the spot is for the MD Lottery. We'll have to get in touch with someone there and give them your agent's name.

In the past I would have loved to do the dance in front of a screaming crowd of Ravens Maniacs, Ron...
Unfortunately, I have put the dance away for now due to various undisclosed reasons. Maybe I can do the Chicken Dance and get some exposure!
Oh yeah,
Almost forgot to mention that I haven't been to a home game so far this year, but you know I'm always good for at least 2 or 3 if I'm not deployed to Iraq...LOL

Well, I hope the various undisclosed reasons are nothing serious. At least I got to personally experience and photograph the dance once.

Great. Now I'll NEVER get to see the infamous dance that everyone talks so much about.
