I've been to both Sports Legends and the Pro Football HOF in Canton. Sports Legends is just as good if not better than the HOF and it's all about Baltimore and the great state of Maryland. If you truly love Baltimore sports this place is at the top of the Can't Miss list - i guarantee you're gonna love it!
Lots of out-of-town fans go there, and O's fans go there on baseball game days, but for some reason our local football fans haven't been keeping pace. I humbly ask you to consider visiting this great local museum. If we don't, who will? If local support doesn't pick up, your chances of seeing a truly world class sports museum featuring your own hometown teams may be fast diminishing.
Sports Legends is located in the historic railroad station at the entrance to Oriole Park at Camden Yards. Here's some of the exhibits they offer:

43 members of our Roost took a tour of the Sports Legends museum this weekend. Here's a few of the comments i heard:
"Unbelievable."
"I'm just in awe. It's like being a kid again."
"I'm coming back to spend more time"
"Thanks for setting this up. We would never have known this was here."
"I can't get over how professional everything is."
"I spent an hour just in the Orioles hall. It's fantastic."
"Some of the stuff in that Ravens store I've never seen before".
"Sorry man, it just get's to me" (full grown man fighting back tears while standing in the Colts room. According to museum staff, this is a frequently occuring phenomena).
"I'm signing up for a membership"
"I WAS THERE! That was great! WOO-HOO!" (Fan watching the greatest moments in Ravens history on the video screen).
"It's nice to know there's at least one place that tells the true story of the Baltimore Colts".
"HELL YES!" (Group concensus when asked if they would spread the good word about the Sports Legends.)
"If more people don't come, the museum might have to close".
Summary:
Everybody who went loved it. I've never heard one serious complaint from anyone who has ever visited there - only glowing reports. Taking sports fans there is the safest bet i'll ever make. It's a no-brainer.
There are a hundred reasons to love this museum, but the fact that it is the ONLY PLACE ON THE FACE OF THIS EARTH that tells the TRUE unabashed story of the love affair that existed between the City of Baltimore and the Baltimore Colts, is enough for me. They also house the official archives of the Ravens and Orioles as well. All of the teams and all of the heroes of my childhood are represented there.
To lose such a place, simply because the football fans of our fair town haven't visited it enough, would be a dirty rotten shame, imho. I have to believe it's because not enough people know about it - yet.
I highly encourage you to go. Take your children, your grand kids. Pass on the legacy before it goes away.
