Pittman ran with Santana Moss

Samari Rolle cannot run stride for stride with a burner like Santana Moss. You have to appreciate the speed Pittman displayed, even if he missed the ball on a solid throw to the outside of the receiver. I would much rather see some of these young guys like Pittman or Derrick Martin. I am so darn sick the old corners: Carnell Lake, Corey Fuller, Deion Sanders, Samari Rolle....etc. I don't care about experience if they don't have the speed

perhaps, but if the corner doesn't even make the play or TRY to make the play, what's the point? Derrick Martin and Ronnie Prude would be better out there.

We're just playing like slop on offense so far. Defense recovered from that first pass.

Pittman played well. He got beaten on the first play where he didn't play the ball.....after that, he was in position every time. He is by far the quickest and most athletic of all the Ravens DC......He drove on the slant on third and six and made a great tackle before the sticks to force a 4 and 1. That was a big-time play. He's got potential. All in all, considering the Redskins were trying to pick on him the entire first half, he held up well.

Pittman displayed speed, but I can't really say anything positive about his cover skills. Each of the last 2 weeks, his good plays (outside of last night's nice tackle) have been on deep balls where he is running with the receiver, but the pass is slightly off target. There is not a damn thing he's done well in terms of looking back and finding the ball, nor in getting his hands in the right position to make a play.

I'm still optimistic that given his apparent athleticism, our coaches can make him a corner, but he's got a long way to go. Martin has significantly better cover skills.

I'm sure I read somewhere that Martin was transitioning to safety this camp? Has his play at corner stopped that?

I think Ronnie Prude was trying out at safety too, our S roster, sans the UDFAs, are Reed, Landry, Sapp, Winborne, and Prude.

UKRavenStockers, Martin played on the outside in both games 2 and 3. It was just a little odd that with Rolle down, they took a look at Ivy on the outside on 1st and 2nd down, but Pittman came in on 3rd down, playing on the outside, while Ivy moved back to his normal coverage on the slot.

Martin vs. Pittman is the competition for the final pre-season game, and it should be interesting.

But I could've sworn it wasn't Prude stepping into safety. I felt he was our best young corner last fall putting in much better and more consistent performances than Pittman and Martin.

Pittman did as well as we could expect. He just needs to fine tune his game. However that will take some time.
